Dead Sea mineral salt is salt that is extracted from the Dead Sea in the Jordan Rift Valley. The Dead Sea is a well-known place for healing and wellness because of the very unique properties of its water. Dead Sea water is made up of 33% salt, about ten times more than the average amount contained in other sea waters. Because of its extremely high salt content, no marine life can survive in the Dead Sea. It is also for the same reason that it was named as such.

Not to be confused with ordinary table salt, Dead Sea mineral salt is dull in color, not edible, and tastes very bitter. It contains a stronger concentration of minerals compared to other bodies of water and has very high magnesium levels. There are about 21 minerals found in Dead Sea mineral salt , 12 of which cannot be found in any other sea water, and these include magnesium, sodium, calcium, potassium, bromide, bitumen, iodine, and zinc ,among others.  According to scientists and researchers, it is this unique composition and very high mineral content that gives Dead Sea mineral salt its distinct therapeutic properties.

The use of Dead Sea mineral salt has proven to be very beneficial for the human body. It is an effective treatment for several skin diseases, detoxifies the skin of its impurities, and imparts an overall feeling of wellness and relaxation. Fortunately, people do not have to go all the way to the Dead Sea to experience all the benefits that can be derived from Dead Sea mineral salt. Some skin care and cosmetic companies have actually begun manufacturing products that have Dead Sea salt as their main ingredient, making them available all over the world.
